I can't see why ppl are still posting everything to the mailing list when this perfectly working board is set up waiting to be used Posting here would have the advantage of classifictation - i.e. an important post can be placed as important - that is it won't get pushed out of the way by hundreds of posts about MIME and HTML formatted emails for example  just my thoughts, Dingo |

Many e-mail clients can turn lists into threaded lists and they have the advantage of being entirely client side.
A small amount of scripting would give you the best of both worlds. Give the forum an email address and have it auto post anything it receives to these forums and vice versa.

I have argued this on the list itself. I think it's more of a case of bordem. I personally unsubscribed from the list and decided to only use the board, to avoid all the nasty waste of time arguments that appear ont hat list... i guess it's only a matter of time until more people start using the baord instead. At the moment hardly anyone is, unlike the sydney/melbourne boards where there are hundreds of posts...
Thats list should probably be scaled down to "important announcments" only....
