Slashdot.org had an article about how Sydney have a wireless networking project started. I checked it out www.sydneywireless.com/db2/It was identical to ours. Not wanting to loose the free publicity I mentioned out project in the comments section.

yes i saw it too i checked out that slashdot link since i live in sydney and have added myself to their node database -- i visited a link to brismesh and was amazed to see a similar node list here but yours has that cool DEM map at the bottom and more dots and lines on the map when did you guys start your wireless project just out of curiosity ? i just looked at the list you have 15 points fully operational and 21 in testing - not bad:) the centre of brisbane is a big red blot can't wait till it gets setup more in my area, the line of sight restriction might be a problem where i live - im gonna climb on the roof tomorrow and have a look-see

They have a more interesting way of doing it, put your address in instead of worrying about eastings and northings. Didn't Dave release db2 under GPL or some such? And the elevation map uses data from auslig(?) and the tiles cost money (~$80 each).
